Sabra Hadassah of the Desert Invites you to
A Special Fascinating Program for Men and Women
"Cancer Has Come A Long Way… But Not Far Enough” Featuring Stewart Fleishman

Monday, March 16, 2026 • Doors open 9:30am • Program begins 10:00am

Not so long ago, we didn’t even like to say the word, lowering our voice, saying “the C word” or “a long illness.” With improvements in all aspects of care: prevention, screening, diagnosis, surgery, targeted chemotherapies and radiation therapies, much more can be done to eradicate cancer or turn it into a chronic illness with lengthy survivorship.

Stewart Fleishman fell unexpectedly into this area when he spearheaded the development of specialized programs to care for patients during cancer treatment as preparation for long term survivorship. He trained at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and directed a program of patient care, research and teaching at Beth Israel Medical Center, all in New York. He has authored two books and many peer-reviewed journal articles. He now works as a Volunteer Provider and Past Board Chair of the Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine and as an Accreditation Site Reviewer for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Coffee and Nosh will be served.
