Stream the Israeli movie "The Syrian Bride" available on Kanopy, which is available for free at most local libraries.

A 2004 drama film that explores personal and political conflicts through the story of Mona, a Druze woman from a village on the Israeli-Syrian border, on the day of her wedding. Her marriage to a Syrian TV star means she will cross into Syria — and never be allowed to return home due to the political stalemate between the two countries. As family tensions, bureaucratic hurdles, and border politics collide, the film explores themes of love, identity, and the invisible walls that separate people.
