Join Jewish mental health professionals and allies for an important conversation about Hadassah's mission to improve child and adolescent psychiatry services. We will explore the efforts, barriers, and needs of Hadassah's hospitals in Israel, featuring insights from Dr. Laura Prager and Dr. Anat Geva.

Laura Prager, MD is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and a senior attending psychiatrist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH). She previously served as Associate Chief for Academic Affairs at BCH. Most recently, she was the Chair of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Vice Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Boston Medical Center where she was appointed Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics. She is also a member of the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Division of Child Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) where she trained and worked for more than two decades. She designed, built, and led the MGH Child Psychiatry Emergency Consult Service. She also served as the psychiatrist for MGH’s Lung Transplant Team and for its Turner Syndrome Clinic. From 2015-2019 she was the Director of the MGH Transitional Age Youth Clinic. Dr. Prager is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching and mentoring from MGH, HMS, and BCH. The Department of Psychiatry and Division of Child Psychiatry at MGH endowed a Grand Rounds in her name in 2019.

Dr. Prager is the immediate past-president of the New England Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (NECCAP). She serves on several American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) committees including Emergency Psychiatry and Clinical Essentials, and has been a mentor and advocate for the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Faculty Initiative (PSYFI). She currently sits on two non-profit boards: Adolescent Consultation Services (serving court-involved youth in Middlesex County, MA) and Music for Autism.

Dr. Prager has served as an editor of the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry since 2008. She has authored or coauthored many peer-reviewed articles, textbook chapters, op-eds, clinical perspectives, and one book.

Dr. Anat S. Geva serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at No Shame On U, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting mental health through education and community. In this role, she leads content development and spearheads programming to support those struggling with their mental health and the people who support them. She holds a joint Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Cognition & Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, bringing a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective to her advocacy and educational work. Anat is deeply committed to reducing the stigma of mental illness and has been instrumental in developing teen resilience programs that emphasize coping strategies, community connection, and suicide prevention. She authored No Shame On U’s Parent’s Guide to Navigating a Mental Health Crisis and is currently creating a companion guide for teens. In March 2025, she joined the Association of Jewish Psychologists (AJP) mental health mission to Israel, learning from Israeli trauma experts and organizations building resilience in the aftermath of October 7.
