This year's journal will be distributed at our region's winter event, in March 2025. We dedicate the journal to ISRAEL; in memory of the fallen IDF soldiers, attendees murdered at the NOVA concert, civilians attacked and killed by terrorists in their kibbutzim. We also honor and mourn the hostages taken, released and/or killed. We honor the ongoing courage of the IDF forces continuing the fight, the 100,000 citizens displaced from their homes because of their proximity to dangerous borders and to the entire Israeli population struggling day to day with stress, anxieties and injuries suffered physically, mentally and/or psychologically.

On October 7, 2023 Israel was viciously attacked by murdering terrorists. Since 1912, for over 100 years, Hadassah has survived some of the most difficult challenges - united - Hadassah women have supported each other and have sprung into action to ensure that our mission is fulfilled.
How has Hadassah responded since October 7?
Our two hospitals have treated severely wounded soldiers and civilians. Health care workers were dispersed into communities and kibbutzim to deal with emotional trauma. Youth Aliyah Villages have taken in students and families that have been displaced. HMO has launched an emergency psychiatric ER service and hotlines for mental health needs, both for adults and youth. Hadassah accelerated the opening of the Gandel Rehabilitation Center by several months - January 15, 2024.
When complete, the Gandel Rehabilitation Center will care for 10,000 patients annually. Patients in the War-Wounded Department will benefit from the center's state-of-the-art equipment. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) will be specifically targeted as well as rehab for neurological, mental and physical problems. This year, the monies collected from our journal campaign will go directly to the Gandel Rehabilitation Center.
The Hadassah Medical Organization is comprised of two advanced hospitals - The Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center at Ein Kerem and the Hadassah University Hospital at Mt. Scopus - and five medical schools. Your support sustains such programs as:

  • Medical care
  • Gene therapy and stem cell research
  • Health Education
  • Center for Emergency medicine
  • Youth Villages
  • Young Judea Youth Movement
Though our hearts are heavy, our resolve is stronger than ever. These tragic moments unite us and further propel us in our renewed commitment to Hadassah and our efforts on behalf of Tikkun Olam.
