Hadassah Of Northern New Mexico is honored to present Ron Duncan Hart, Director of the Institute for Tolerance Studies, to speak on The Pale Of Settlement.

If your family is from Eastern Europe, chances are they lived in the Pale of Settlement during 1791-1917. By Russian mandate, over 5 million Jews were restricted to live within modern-day Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. Learn more about the “old country” in this very informative lecture.

Ron Duncan Hart, Ph.D. is a cultural anthropologist and is the author or editor of nine books on religion and diversity. He has been a Fulbright Senior Scholar and has won awards from the Ford Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation, among others. He has appeared on PBS and testified as a witness before the US Congress on diversity.
